Wednesday September 20, 6:30 pm Eastern Time

HOUSTON, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- eCORP LLC, (eCORP) a private energy asset owner and operator based in Houston, announced today that an eCORP affiliate, Central New York Oil & Gas Company, LLC has received an Environmental Assessment from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) concerning the company's application for a certificate of public convenience and necessity in connection with its proposed Stagecoach Natural Gas Storage Facility, which is to be located near Binghamton, New York.

The FERC Environmental Assessment dated September 2000 is a publicly available document:

Central New York Oil and Gas Company, LLC
Docket Nos. CPOO-61-000, CP00-62-000, and CP00-63-000
Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company
Docket No. CP00-65-000

The Environmental Assessment makes the following conclusion:

``The staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or Commission) has prepared an environmental assessment (EA) of the natural gas storage and pipeline facilities proposed by Central New York Oil and Gas Company, LLC (CNYOG) and Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company (Tennessee) in the above referenced dockets.

``The EA was prepared to satisfy the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. The staff concludes that approval of the proposed projects, with appropriate mitigating measures, would not constitute a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment.

``The EA assesses the potential environmental effects of the construction and operation of CYNOG's proposed underground gas storage facilities and Tennessee's related pipeline facilities.''

John F. Thrash, CEO of eCORP, stated, ``We are extremely pleased with the conclusion reached by the Commission's Environmental Assessment of these projects. We believe these projects, taken together, represent one of the best available options to significantly enhance and reinforce natural gas delivery infrastructure in the northeastern United States, an area of the country very much in need of relief in terms of such energy resources.''
